Collision Task Force

Management Tools to Reduce Conflicts with Renewable Energies

  1. Inclusion: As a sub-group of WG1, the Collision Task Force aims to integrate a diverse range of experts, stakeholders, and decision-makers into the development of management tools to reduce collision risks.

  2. Modelling Framework: Developing a comprehensive understanding of the risk factors associated with wind turbines, starting with a single species (i.e., the red kite). This framework will be designed to be adaptable to various species, allowing for broader application.

  3. Management Tool: Collaborate with participants and their various expertise to create a tool that assesses and suggests proper management plans for wind turbines. This tool will be valuable during the planning and deployment phases of wind turbine projects.

  4. Publication: The outcomes of these analyses, along with guidelines and instructions for using the specific management tool, will be published in peer-reviewed journals.

  5. Research and Conservation Expansion: Encouraging the development of additional relevant scientific work within the working group, leveraging the expertise and goals of the participants.
