EUFLYNET Training School: MoveApps Biologging Workshop

Following the EUFLYNET meeting in Vienna, participants had the opportunity to attend a training school dedicated to biologging data and movement analysis tools.

The workshop introduced participants to the Move ecosystem, including Movebank, MoveApps, Movebank Life History Museum, Movetraits and MoveBON. Through a series of presentations and guided sessions, attendees learned how these platforms support the storage, management and analysis of animal movement data.

Participants then worked through several hands-on workflows using MoveApps, including creating simple movement animations, monitoring live tracking data, and exploring migration patterns. Additional sessions focused on understanding movement data structure, track segmentation and developing analytical workflows.

The training school provided valuable practical experience and strengthened participants’ skills in working with tracking and biologging data, which are essential tools for studying migration and movement ecology.
